How does MightyGift work?
After you sign up and provide your birthday, we'll automatically email you on your special day. You may then activate your birthday link by choosing the charity you'd like to support.
The birthday link points to your own MightyGift birthday page, which you can share with your friends and family. There, they may make credit/debit card donations towards the chosen charity. After your birthday ends, the money raised will be donated to the charity.
Do birthday links expire?
No; you may visit your birthday page and view all the donations made by your friends and family whenever you want. However, only during your birthday can donations be made to the charity.
Which charity can I choose?
You can pick any U.S. charity, provided they at least have an EIN number. We have built-in search functionality to make choosing the charity as simple as typing their name.
If you are an non-US user or would like to support a non-US charity/cause, please reach out to us (support@mighty.gift) and we'll see what we can do.
How are payments processed?
We use Stripe to securely process payments.
Does MightyGift take a fee?
Yes, 1% of each donation. When you add Stripe's processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30, the total amount deducted per donation is 3.9% + $0.30.
